Hallo Freunde!
Weil es immer wieder Probleme mit der
Schriftfarbe gab, habe ich jetzt umgestellt auf Orange. Passt immer noch zum
Design der Website und bleibt hoffentlich auch auf weißem Untergrund noch
lesbar.
Was gibt's sonst Neues?
Ich habe weitere Songs aus dem Album
Circles veröffentlicht. "I don't want to lose you" steht nun auch auf besonic,
track 4 und Bandnet zum Anhören und / oder Download bereit.
Außerdem habe ich endlich den Schritt zu
MySpace gewagt. Hier könnt Ihr mich ab sofort unter www.myspace.com/planetcrown finden.
Da habe ich jetzt auch ein Blog angefangen. Keine Ahnung, wie lange ich das
durchhalte und ob ich da überhaupt ständig was Sinniges reinschreiben kann. Auf
jeden Fall werde ich dort ab jetzt auch die Newsletter
veröffentlichen.
Aber die Hauptsache: Alle Songs für das
neue Album sind fertig! 14 neue Stücke, wenigstens neu für Euch. Es sind wieder
ein paar dabei, die schon ein paar Tage auf dem Buckel haben, aber die
überwiegende Anzahl ist während der Aufnahmen zum neuen Album, also während der
vergangenen zwei Jahre, entstanden. So wie es aussieht, werden es wieder 14
Songs werden, allerdings nicht 13+1 wie auf "Circles", das ja einen Remix
enthielt. Das Lied war u.a. deshalb auf dem Album, weil ich mich nicht
entscheiden konnte zwischen der spartanischen Urversion oder der aufgemotzten
Neufassung. Diesmal jedenfalls sind es 14 eigenständige Songs.
Nachdem ich "Circles" fertig hatte, hatte
ich erst einmal zwei Monate nichts gemacht. Das lag hauptsächlich daran, dass es
in der letzten Phase der Produktion noch mal richtig hektisch wurde, ich wollte
ja unbedingt rechtzeitig vor Weihnachten fertig werden. Diesmal bin ich
eigentlich jetzt schon damit durch, habe daher mehr Ruhe und mache entspannt
gleich weiter. Dabei kann es natürlich auch passieren, dass ich vielleicht noch
einmal ein oder zwei Songs austausche, mal sehen, was noch so kommt. Fest steht:
Ein Doppelalbum wird es auch diesmal nicht werden und die Spieldauer sollte
schon bei einer knappen Stunde liegen, das tut sie, und das wird auch so
bleiben.
Als nächstes kommt jetzt die
Cover-Gestaltung. Weil mir meine Texte ja nicht egal sind, ich mir dabei
manchmal sogar richtig Mühe gebe, möchte ich sie auch gern wieder in das Cover
aufnehmen. Es wird also in jedem Fall wieder ein Booklet geben. Was mir noch
fehlt, ist der letztendliche Albumtitel und das damit verbundene Coverdesign.
Muss ja alles zueinander passen. Aber dazu wird mir bestimmt noch etwas
einfallen.
A propos einfallen: Was haltet Ihr von der
folgenden Idee? Ich plane, demnächst auf der Website einen neuen Bereich
freizuschalten, in dem Ihr Eure Ideen für neue Songs einbringen könnt. "Was,
sollen wir jetzt Deinen Job machen?!" höre ich da schon. Nein, natürlich nicht.
Ich finde nur die Idee spannend, dass ich z.B. ein Gitarrenriff mit einem
Grundbeat als Wave-Date zum Download zur Verfügung stelle, und jede(r) von Euch,
der will, kann das weiter bearbeiten, indem er / sie z.B. eine Gesangsspur dazu
aufnimmt, oder die Gitarrenspur mal RICHTIG GUT spielt, oder eine Bassline
beiträgt oder oder oder. Ich bekomme Eure Version am besten als Einzelspur von
Euch dann zurück und "verheirate" sie hier mit dem Ausgangsmaterial. Im
Idealfall erhalten wir auf diese Weise nach und nach einen oder (wenn das gut
angenommen wird) sogar mehrere Songs, die wir gemeinsam gemacht haben. Wenn die
dann auf ein Album von Planet Crown kämen, wäre Euch natürlich die Erwähnung in
den Credits sicher. Und natürlich würde jede(r) Beteiligte auch als Mitautor des
betreffenden Songs angegeben werden, klaro.
Hierzu würde ich mich wirklich über
Rückmeldungen freuen. Auch von denen, die sich nicht berufen fühlen, dabei
selbst mitzumischen. Also, wie findet Ihr das?
Letzter Punkt: Wie ist das neue
Newsletter-Layout? Ich habe das Gefühl, dass es nicht mehr so anstrengend für
die Augen ist. Bei Weiß auf Schwarz hatte ich danach immer eine Weile dunkle
Linien vor den Augen, das ist jetzt besser. Konnten diejenigen von Euch, die
Darstellungsprobleme hatten, diesen Newsletter jetzt ohne Anwendung
irgendwelcher Tricks lesen?

Hello friends,
as there were problems with the
font color again and again, I have switched over to orange. Still matches the
design of the website and hopefully remains still readable also on a white
ground.
What else ... ?
I have released more songs from the album
"Circles". "I don't want to lose you" is now available on besonic, track 4 and
Bandnet, just for listenening and for downloads as well.
In addition, I have finally ventured the
step towards MySpace. Here you can find me under www.myspace.com/planetcrown from
now on. I also have started a blog there. I have no idea how long I'm going to
keep it up or even what usefull threads I should start. Anyway, I will also
publish my newsletter there.
But the main thing: I finished all the
songs for the new album! 14 new titles, at least new for you. Again some of them
are a few days older, but most of them were written during the
recording-sessions for the new album, that means during the last two years.
Looks like it will become 14 songs again, though not 13 + 1 like on "Circles"
which contained one remix. It was on the album because I couldn't make up my
mind between the spartanic native or the new "dolled" version. Anyway, this time
there will be 14 different songs.
After I had finished with "Circles", I
have done nothing for two months or so. This was mainly because the production
really got hectic in the last phase, as I wanted to get ready punctual at
Christmas. This time, I am actually through now, therefore more relaxed and able
to just continue. Of course it also can happen that I still exchange one or two
songs. Fact is: This time either, it won't become a double album and the
playtime should be near an hour.
Next thing will be the cover design. As my
lyrics mean something (at least) to me I would like to have them written
somewhere on the cover. So there will be a booklet again. I still haven't found
the final album title and the cover design, which might be related to the
title. I guess I will have the right idea in time.
Talking about ideas: What do you think of
the following? I am planning a new area on my website where you can bring in
your ideas for new songs. "Should we do your job then?!" I already hear you say.
No, of course not! I just find it an interesting idea to develop a song
together. I could for example start with a guitar-riff and put it on the website
for download. You can download it an complete it whith a vocal part, a bassline
or you play my riff REALLY WELL. Then you send your stuff back to me (ideal
would be a solo track) and I mix it together with my material. At best we
will step by step get one or even several songs we have written, built and
played together. And should the song(s) find its (their) way on a Planet
Crown-Album all helpers will be mentioned as co-authors and, of course, also be
mentioned in the credits.
I would really like to know what you think
about this idea, no matter if you for yourself can imagine to participate or
not.
Last point: What do you think about the
new layout of the newsletter? I found it less exhausting for the eyes. With
White on Black I used to see dark stripes for the next few minutes. I think this
effect is gone. Could those of you who couldn't see the white letters before now
"read the signs"?
